RED Winches Winch Damper (Winch Blanket)
The RED Winches Winch Damper, also known as a winch blanket, is an essential piece of recovery safety equipment. Designed to help control rope recoil in the rare event of a winch line failure, the damper adds a critical layer of protection during winching operations. By absorbing and redirecting the energy of a snapped rope, it significantly reduces the rope’s flight path and brings it to the ground more quickly—minimising the risk of injury or damage.
In addition to its recoil control function, the winch damper serves as a visual indicator of the winch line’s path. This is especially useful when running a winch line across a track or trail, alerting others to its presence and improving on-site awareness.
